Photo licence

Draft wording for Wild Trust to review and approve before launch. It is not legal advice.

You keep the copyright in your photos. When you agree to public display, you license your photo under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International licence (CC BY-NC 4.0).

What that means

• Anyone may share and adapt the photo for non-commercial purposes, such as research, education and conservation.
• They must credit you by your display name and say that the photo came from Ocean Sightings / Wild Trust.
• Nobody may use it commercially without your permission.

Research-only sightings

If you don't agree to public display, Wild Trust will use your photo only internally and for research, and won't publish it.
